Celebrating Joy of Giving Week between 2 to 8 October, 2019

At Mumbai Metro One, Marol Naka Station:

Our Empowerment, Health and Sexuality of Adolescents (EHSAS) and Prevention of Violence against Women and Children (PVWC) Programmes used Daan Utsav (Joy of Giving Week) as an opportunity to raise awareness through street plays, songs, interactive games and activities on topics of mental health, menstrual hygiene, anaemia and gender-based violence. 


At WeWork - Thane, BKC, Goregaon:

Employees were engaged through games on health and nutrition by our Health Cities Programme (HCP) and street play, games and discussion on mental health by the EHSAS clinical psychologist. 


During this period, SNEHA was also a part of ChaloGive, a grassroots giving initiative for the Indian diaspora in the US. 


POSHAN Maah 2019 - SNEHA observes Nutrition Month

Health post staff and anganwadi workers from the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM), the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) and the Bhiwandi Nizampur Municipal Corporation (BNMC) were supported by SNEHA's Maternal and Newborn Health (MNH) Programme  to organise health talks with pregnant women and their family members on the importance of nutritious food intake during pregnancy and lactation.


SNEHA's Child Health and Nutrition (CHN) Programme, Aahar was part of the Nutrition Rath organised by the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) to create awareness about various nutrition components. 


Our Healthy Cities Programme (HCP) conducted talks on nutrition and handwash in 5 schools in Malvani. 837 children and 23 teaching staff were sensitised. The team also organised a participatory workshop with 43 Maternal Newborn Health (MNH) community champions to build their knowledge on maternal anemia, importance of iron rich food and their role as MNH champions in the community.
